The day I met Mel and Jesse, I knew their wedding day was going to be a favorite of mine.
It wasn’t just their amazing style for their Lake Tahoe engagement session, or the incredible beauty of their venue at Miami’s Ancient Spanish Monastery. (More on that in sec, thooooo.) It was their connection. Just the way these two are with each other. Their goofiness and affection. The way they so easily melt into each other and do just about everything I want them to do without any direction whatsoever. I knewwww their wedding day, despite what it looked like, would give my little photographer heart butterflies. And I was SO RIGHT.
When the day came along, it rained almost nonstop. So yes, what you’re about to see is actually Plan B. (I’m actually pretty sure it was even more beautiful this way.) We moved the ceremony indoors, whichhhh isn’t too shabby when you happen to be getting married in an ancient monastery that was built in 1133 AD in northern Spain and eventually rebuilt, stone by stone, in Miami. When the ceremony was over, the rain had finally stopped, so we ran outside and they did what they do: they loved on each other and laughed and goofed off – seriously, my heart. It was followed by a sparkler entrance and first dance, and a beautiful night under a clear night sky. Just look:
